Allblacks coach Steve Hansen announced his match day 23 on Thursday (NZT).

On Saturday Australia host New Zealand for the Rugby Championship opener in Sydney. The Wallabies will be looking to upset the two time World Champions in their Bledisloe Cup encounter which they last won in 2002.


Hansen has decided to go with inexperienced Jack Goodhue ahead of Anton Lienert-Brown. Kieran Read makes his come back to international rugby since his long injury absence. Brodie Retallick returns to the Allblack set up after missing the French inbound tour in June.

Sam Whitelock will be running out for his 100th Allblack cap, becoming the first New Zealand lock to attain this milestone and eighth Allblack to earn 100 caps or more.
