The National Soccer League (NSL) Board of Governors met in Kempton Park on Thursday 20 September.

The Board of Governors discussed the implications of sponsorship agreement entered into between SAFA and Outsurance to sponsor match officials.

The NSL is of the view that the sponsorship infringes on the rights of NFL sponsors. The Board of Governors mandated the Executive Committee to seek legal advice on the matter and to take all neccessary steps to resolve the matter.

The Board of Governors also discussed the matter relating to the alleged utterances which appear to have been made by Black Leopards FC chairman, Mr David Thidiela.

The matter has been referred to the League’s Prosecutor, Mr. Nande Becker for urgent attention.

In the interim Mr. Thidiela is placed under precautionary suspension from the Premier Soccer League Executive Committee until the matter is resolved.
