Happy Jele(captain) and Goodman Mosele were recalled again for the match against TS Galaxy.
Terrence Dzvukamanja caught on a loose ball in the 9th minute at the far post but hit the crossbar from close range and missed his chance to make the Buccaneers lead 1-0.
The visitors came in strong with more attacking chances and Happy Jele was close to scoring a goal with a header from a corner kick and missed the far post wide.
The Rockets got a lead goal three minutes later from Lifa Hlongwans with an underpressure tap-in after a cut-back by Lindokuhle Mbatha.
Orlando Pirates looked vulnerable during play as the back of the net was found by Sphiwe Mahlangu for TS Galaxy just before half time break from a one-on-one with Richard Ofori Pirates goalkeeper but was disallowed for offside.
A double tactical change was made by the Soweto Giants as Fortunate Makaringe was introduced and replaced Jele, Kwame Peprah also came in and replaced Mntambo. Pirates were lucky not to be down by 2-0 after Ofori allowed a goal from Orebotse Mongae in a one on one just from the restart of the second half.
The Rockets were pinned in their own half of the pitch after, with recurring attacks from the visitors and Thembinkosi Lorch came close to redeeming Pirates in the 65th minute with a grass cutter that miss a bottom post with a corner from the edge of the box.
Orlando Pirates had a lot of work to do to even score against TS Galaxy but there were a lot of tired legs on the pitch as Dzvukamanja and Bandile Shandy were replaced by Zakhele Lepasa and Wayde Jooste.
The Soweto Giants yet found another opportunity to even the score seven minutes before full time after a rebound fell on Peprah in the box but unfortunately dragged his shot wide.
The match stretched on but TS Galaxy managed to hold on to the scoreline and up to the 13th place on the log three points clear of the relegation zone.
