Dear South Africa, a few months ago I wrote about Qaphela Gobodo who was burnt by his classmates because they were jealous of him for being really good at playing rugby and receiving a scholarship.
Qaphela has had over 20 surgeries, after a long and painful recovery he went back to school, only be bullied by his school mates, so the only sane thing to do was to drop out of school in his Grade 8 year.
I asked all of you to help me take Qaphela back to school and YOU did that, Qaphela is now studying his Grade 9 via online school.
As we are in the middle of the Rugby World Cup, Heineken has managed to assist us in taking Qaphela to Japan.
When I read Qaphela’s story and followed up on his Facebook posts, i was inspired. Imagine how much more inspirational he is to his peers? I knew that in Qaphela we have a great leader worthy of our support.
Qaphela will be leaving for Japan this Wednesday
