Micheal Cheika confirm on Sunday that he will not be seeking re-appointment as Wallabies head coach, according to rugby.com.au
Australia were knocked out of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in the quarter finals, losing to England 40 – 16. The 52 year old ha dalways said that he would stand down if Australia didnt win the tournaent (World Cup).
“I’m the type of man who always going to back what he says and i knew from the final whistle but i just wanted to give it that little bit of time to cool down, talk to my people and then make it clear.”
Scott Johnson, Australia’s Director of Rugby has already been looking for possible replacements for Cheika.
Michael Cheika has 50% winning record as a Wallabies coach, with 33 wins from 66 games.
