England were out to seal the Series when they played Australia in the third of five One Day Internationals on Tuesday.
Jason Roy and Johnny Bairstow put up 159/0 partnership for the opening stand, before Roy got run-out on 82. England though, were not deterred by the loss of Roy as Hales stepped in and continued to pile on the pressure on the Baggy Greens.
Bairstow scored 139, Alex Hales 147 from 92 balls. England concluded the innings on 481/6 after 50 overs, a new ODI record.
With a mammoth task of chasing down the target of 482, Australia were in shambles from the start of their innings, as they were bowled all out for a mere 239 runs.
England clinched the Series with a 242 run win and now lead the Series 3 – 0 with two ODIs to play.
