On Thursday, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus and England coach Eddie Jones both named their strongest sides possible for the Test series opener.

Debut:

Rassie has selected three debutants, S’bu Nkosi, Aphiwe Dyatnti and R G Snyman while Jones has only gone for two, in Hurricanes skipper Brad Shield and Ben Spencer.

Captains:

Siya Kolisi will be the first African to lead South Africa in a Test match. This will be a momentous occasion for him, his family and the Nation. Owen Farrell to captain the English.

Caps:

Billy Vunipola will run out for his 50th cap on Saturday, Tendai Mtawarira is one cap short of a ton. Springboks boast 320 Test Caps for the Test match.

Record: Played 38 – SA won 23, Lost 13 and 2 Draws

Key Areas: Jones has gone for players that are very strong under the high ball, in Daly and Brown. In the forwards he’s gone for strong ball carriers in the Vunipola brothers and Itoje who is disruptive at Line-Out time.

Rassie brings in unpredictability in his team, we are yet to see what his plan is, this Saturday will give a greater understanding as to what type of football the Boks will play.
