South Africa have been surpassed by Wales in the World Rugby Rankings, this after the Welsh beat the Springboks in an “exhibition” Test Match played in Washington DC.

Ryan Elias’ late try gave Wales a 22 – 20 victory over the Springboks. This was Wales’ third win in a against South Africa.

The two point loss sees the Springboks docked 1.04 points from 83.81 to 82.77, while Wales gained 1.04 points, leapfrogging the Boks and Scotland to 5th spot.

Springboks face England in a Three Test Series and Wales travel to Argentina for a two Test Series
