Golf:

Phil Mickelson ended the longest drought of his career with a playoff victory Sunday over Justin Thomas in the Mexico Championship, capping off a final round of lustrous cheers in thin air that included Thomas holing a wedge for eagle on the final hole of regulation.

Mickelson, who closed with a 5-under 66, won for the first time since the 2013 British Open at Muirfield.

Rugby:

Lions are still the team to beat in the South African Conference this after stamping their authority when they upset the Blue Bulls at Loftus 49 – 35.

Stormers were stunned by the Crusaders in Christchurch 45 – 28. Sharks 24 – 24 Waratahs, Blues 21 – 27 Chiefs, Reds 18 – 10 Brumbies.

In Sevens Circuit:

USA won the Las Vegas leg of the Sevens Series. Blitzbokke crashed out in the semi-finals, losing to Argentina.

Cricket:

Australia won the first test at Kingmead on Monday morning, beating South Africa by 118 runs. Second Test will be in Nelson Mandela Bay on Friday 09/03/2018.

Athletics:

Jobodwana wins the 200m, The world championship 200m bronze medallist from 2015 was as dominant as he was cheeky as he stormed over the Ruimsig track to claim a sweet victory.
