Springbok hooker, Malcolm Marx has been named the South African Rugby player of the year, for 2017.

The 23 year old Lions player scooped three awards following a sublime 2017 season. The other awards were SA Rugby Young Player and Super Rugby Player of the year.


Marx is the second player to have won both SA Rugby Player of the year and Young Player of the year in same season, Ashwin Willemse did it back in 2003.
