Women’s World Cup: Semi-Final

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat. Proteas only managed 218 runs in their innings with Mignon du Perez 76* and Laura Wolvaardt 66 the high scorers.

Sarah Taylor struck an important Half-Century to guide England as they beat the Proteas by 2 wickets.

Taylor struck 54 from 76 balls, this after England crumbled under enormous pressure exuded by the Proteas. Although the target was only 219 runs, the English side managed to hold their nerves to complete the highest run chase in Women’s Cricket.

England will now play in the Women’s Cricket World Cup final.

South African women’s side was the lowest ranked team in the tournament, they’ve done really well to get this far in the tournament.

England will meet either Australia or India on Sunday, in the final.
