The Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero isn’t until Friday evening, but there are a few Olympic events that will get underway Wednesday – and you can watch them all.
One of the most popular sports of the Olympic Games technically begin Wednesday, as men’s gymnastics teams gather at the Rio Olympic Arena for podium training at 1:30 p.m. ET. You can stream podium training live on nbcolympics.com.
What exactly is podium training? It’s essentially an open practice where athletes can perform routines on the official equipment they’ll be using in the competition.
Due to scheduling reasons, the men’s and women’s soccer tournaments kick-off before the opening ceremony – as there’s a large number of games to get through. 12 women’s soccer teams will be in action Wednesday, including the U.S. Women’s National team.
