The Golden State Warriors travel to Cleveland on Wednesday with the aim of extending their dominance over the Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals.
The Warriors took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series after cruising to a 110-77 win at the Oracle Arena on Sunday.
Draymond Green shot 5-of-8 from three-point territory en route to another all-around performance of 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists. The do-it-all forward got solid support from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who both played better in Game 2 after having off nights in Game 1. Curry finished with 18 points and nine rebounds while Thompson added 17 and five dimes. Back-up guard Leandro Barbosa also made his presence felt as he contributed 10 points.
LeBron James paced Cleveland with 19 points, nine assists and eight rebounds while veteran Richard Jefferson added 12 off the bench. Unlike in Game 1, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love both struggled in Game 2. Irving had 10 points after shooting 5-of-14 while Love scored just five points.
The Warriors have now won seven in a row over the Cavaliers counting the last three games of last year’s finals and their two meetings in the regular season. The good news for the Cavaliers is they are unbeaten at home in the ongoing playoffs so they are determined to impress in Game 3 and Game 4.
