The derby is now one day away and it is becoming clear who are the favourites to take the game. Kermit Erasmus who is Orlando Pirates main striker has been sold to French League one side Stade Rennais FC by Pirates.
This move can only serve to weaken what was already a questionable attacking line up for Pirates. Pirates have been struggling in the PSL and still linger in the bottom half the PSL table.
“You would have to speak to the club about that because I don’t want to talk about something I am not sure of.” – Tinkler
Erasmus was Pirates key man scoring 13 goals in 51 matches for Pirates signed for the French club despite having 6 months left in his contract for 2 and half years. It would seem even coach Tinkler wasn’t sure of the arrangement as according to kickoff he said; “You would have to speak to the club about that because I don’t want to talk about something I am not sure of.”
So this spells disaster for Pirates ahead of the derby as even the manager isn’t aware of what is going on with his on players. We surely cant expect Pirates to pose much of a challenge to Chiefs after this debacle.
