The IFFHS has released the Club World Rankings for 2015, with Orlando Pirates being the highest ranked South African team and one of the top 10 sides in Africa.

The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has been ranking clubs since 1991, using all results from all official competitions globally.

FC Barcelona was named as the best club in the world, along with Italian sides Juventus and Napoli, who were second and third respectively.

At 149th in the rankings, Pirates are the highest ranked South African team, and are also the 10th highest ranked club in Africa.

Etoile du Sahel, who beat Bucs in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup in November last year, are the highest ranked African side and are 36th in the world.

No other South African club managed to make it into the top 200 teams in the IFFHS Club World Rankings for 2015.
