Bangladesh have won their first ever bilateral series win over the Proteas. The Proteas ranked 4th in the ICC ODI rankings were restricted to 169/9 in 40 overs with Duminy top scoring with a half century (51) at the end of their innings.
Bangladesh would have been comfortable having to chase down a T20 total in the ODI and also having won each of their four home series. The home team ranked 7th in the ICC ODI rankings took to the task with consummate ease reaching the target of 169 with 13 .5 overs to spare having lost just one wicket with Sarkar falling just 10 short of his century scoring 90 runs.
It is now back to the drawing board for the Proteas with the top order and the bowling attach struggling to cope with the Bangladesh setup and tactics.
