The wait is over, New Zealand Rugby Union announced Steve Hansen’s successor on Wednesday.

Ian Foster was one of two front runners for the job, the other being Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson.

“The NZR board has today ratified Ian Foster as the new head coach of the Allblacks from next year (2020). He brings world class international experience to the role, an incredible strong coaching team, and we think he’ll do an outstanding job.” – Brent Impey (NZR Chairman)

NZR will named Foster’s support staff in due course.

“I feel truly privileged and honoured to be given this opportunity and i cant wait to kead the team into he next chapter of what is a remarkable legacy.” – said Foster

Another change in NZR, Mark Robinson takes over from Steve Tew as New Zealand Rugby CEO.
