The penultimate round of the Premier Soccer League had the nation glued to their tv screens as Cape Town City hosted Orlando Pirates at sold-out Athlone Stadium on Saturday.

City started like a house on fire when Zukile Kewuti found the back of the net within 20 seconds of the match, this after the fixture had been delayed by 15 minutes to allow for fans to stream into the stadium peacefully.

Pirates equalized 16 minutes later through Thembinkosi Lorch, the second goal came in the second half for Pirates to lead 2 – 1 with 40 minutes to play. The Buccaneers hopes were dented by Craig Martin in the 84th minute when he scored the equalizer to end the match at 2 – 2 with Pirates salvaging one point.

Mamelodi Sundowns are one point adrift from the Buccaneers on the table standings with a game in hand.
