Steven Naidoo from KwaZulu Natal Coastal has been named the Coca-Cola® Hero of the Day for day 4 of the 2018 Coca-Cola® Khaya Majola Cricket Week.
The prestigious Coca-Cola® Hero of the Day award is presented on each day of the tournament in recognition of a game changing ‘hero’ moment. Steven was elected as the deserving recipient of the award by a Coca-Cola® appointed panel of cricket experts after he took a hat-trick that stopped Namibia from getting a larger total on the scoreboard. His final figures were 4 wickets for 15 runs. Naidoo continued his form when he went in to bat and scored 66 not out from 54 balls and hit a hattrick with 3 fours and 3 Sixes to help his team win.
“Matthew Pollard, who won the Coca-Cola® Hero of the Day yesterday, gave me a lot of support. He kept me calm and helped me think clearly when I ran in for my hat-trick ball. It is always great to have someone in the team that can push you to your full potential. I am surprised that I also won the Coca-Cola® Hero of the Day because there are other players who could win this award.” said Steven.
Interesting hat-trick from past Coca-Cola® Khaya Majola Cricket Weeks

- 2017, Campbell de Wet got a hat-trick for Eastern Province against Free State at the Soweto Oval. Free State was bowled out for 88 runs in the match.
