After a convincing seven wicket win in the first One Day International match against England, South African women’s team will need to go back to the drawing board after Tuesday night’s loss.

Dane van Niekerk elected to bowl first after winning the toss, the host got off to an excellent start before the first wicket fell after 71 runs. England went on to post a massive total of 331/6, with Tammy Beaumont scoring 101 and Sarah Taylor 118.

Proteas innings started off on a good note with Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt getting a 142 run partnership for the opening stand. But South Africa’s momentum was halted as wickets kept tumbling.

South Africa lost 8 wickets for 120 runs as they could only manage to score 262/9

England won by 69 runs amd leveled the series 1 – 1. The series decider will be on Friday in Canterbury.
