Cricket South Africa announced the Proteas squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour on Monday. The two Test series will take place in July next month.

Dale Steyn makes his return to the Proteas Test squad after suffering an injury set back during the India tour of South Africa in January this year. Tabraiz Shamsi and leg-spinner Shaun vov Berg were also included to the squad. Steyn adds invaluable experience in the Proteas bowling attack in view of Morne Morkel’s retirement earlier this year.

Proteas’ tour will kick off with a two day practice match in Colombo on the seventh and eighth of July before the first Test which is from the 12 – 16 July in Galle. The second Test is on the 20 – 24 of July.

August 1: 2nd ODI, Dambulla (D/N)
