Moeen Ali became the first bowler to get a hat-trick at the Oval in 100 Tests.

On Day 4, South Africa had lost their top order batsmen, it was up to defiant Dean Elgar and solid Temba Bavuma to steady the ship going into Day 5. Play resumed on Day 5 with the Proteas on 117/4, all hope was on Elgar and his eighth century but two quick wickets from debutant Toby Roland Jones and Moeen Ali's hat-trick, England won convincingly with 239 runs at The Oval.

South Africa will have to regroup quickly as the second test starts on Friday. It's difficult to comprehend how the Proteas have beaten teams in the past, they have hardly scored any runs. The bowling unit seems to be doing all the work and there's a lot of questions that the batting unit need to ask themselves moving forward.
