Super Rugby is coming to a close, there's only three games remaining, this weekends two semi-final and next weeks final.
First semi-final: Crusaders vs Chiefs
09:35 am – CAT on Saturday
Crusaders have only lost one game in this years Super Rugby season. Which makes it quite difficult to predict against them, even SR history is in their favour. The seven time champions, have won 11 semis in the history of the competition.
Last time the Chiefs beat the Crusaders in Christchurch was last season, but they can take some positives going into this match, as they have beaten the Crusaders in 2012 and 2013 Super Rugby semi-finals.
This game promises to be a spectacle, I'm going with Crusaders by 3
Semi-Final 2: Lions vs Hurricanes
Lions haven't played any New Zealand teams this season, this their first encounter. Ackerman and Swys must be applauded for getting this far in the competition two years running. Whiteleys leadership and Elton Janties boot have played a major role in getting the Lions to host a home semi-final.
This weekend they host a New Zealand outfit, the Hurricanes. Since the last time these two sides met in the 2016 Final at the Cake Tin, the Canes boasted about 4 AllBlacks in the side, now they have 7.
The Lions also have Springboks in their arsenal, they will have 7 (with the absence of Warren Whiteley).
Out of 42 Super Rugby semi-finals played since 1996, only eight have been won by the away team.
This match promises a Test Match vibe to it, with the Lions having home advantage, I see them winning this semi-final by 2.
