The BCCI made announcement late on Tuesday night.
According to reports, BCCI had recieved 10 applications for the post, Shastri, Sehwag, Richard Pybus, Dodda Ganesh, Lalchand Rajput, Lance Klusener, Moody, Rakesh Sharma, Phil Simmons and Upendranath Brahmachari
Only five of these applicants were interviewed by CAC, Shastri, Sehwag, Moody, Rajput and Pybus
Klusener was kept on standby, but had very little chance of getting the job.
Ravi Shastri will be accompanied by former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan as a bowling consultant and Rahul Dravid will be the batting consultant for specific overseas tours.
India’s first encounter will be up against Sri Lanka on the 26th of July.
