Supersport United were crowned Nedbank Cup Champions on Saturday evening after thrashing Orlando Pirates 4 – 1 at Moses Mabida Stadium.
2. Series white wash for the Boks
South Africa had to work hard at Ellis Park to beat the French 35 – 12 on Saturday. The Springboks looked flat footed over the weekend but still managed to see out the lethargic French team. This was the first victory for the Boks against France at Ellis Park, South Africa win the series 3 – 0. The Springboks have now move to 5th place in World Rugby rankings.
3. South Africa Womens Cricket Team beat Pakistan
It was a breathtaking final over as South Africa sealed victory against Pakistan. Skipper Dane van Niekerk backed up her tough talk leading into the tournament and her tram backed her up by surging to a 3 wicket win, with one over left.
4. Rookie wins in Baku
After scoring his first points, last time out in Canada, Williams rookie Lance Stroll survived chaotic scenes around him, to record another “first” in Baku. With third place, Lance Stroll became the 208th driver in history to score a world championship podium, and just the third Canadian, after the father and son duo Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve
