Shakes Mashaba has announced his Bafana Bafana starting line-up ahead of the national team’s friendly encounter against African rivals, Ghana, and has made a number of changes.
The national team arrived in the country yesterday after they travelled to Burkina Faso for their first 2018 World Cup qualifying encounter against the West Africans, which took place on Saturday, 8 October, in Ouagadougou.

Bafana are currently in Group D of the World Cup qualifying round, where they will come up against Burkina Faso, Cape Verde and Senegal – both home and away.
Mashaba’s side were able to secure a point from their first qualifying encounter, after they suffered a late goal which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Now, in preparation for the national team’s next World Cup qualifying encounter, South Africa will face Ghana in a friendly at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban tonight, at 19h00.
It has been confirmed that Bafana will be without the services of Mamelodi Sundowns’ Keagan Dolly, Hlompho Kekana and Tebogo Langerman due to their participation in the final of the CAF Champions League.
However, Masandawana’s Sibusiso Vilakazi has remained with the national team due to the former Bidvest Wits player being cup-tied in the competition.
Here’s how they will line-up:
Starting XI: Brighton Mhlongo, Abbubaker Mobara, Isaac Nhlapo, Thulani Hlatshwayo (captain), Thabo Matlaba, Ayanda Patosi, Oupa Manyisa, Dean Furman, May Mahlangu, Eleazer Rodgers, Sibusiso Vilakazi
Substitutes: Jackson Mabokgwane, Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Maphosa Modiba, Mpho Makola, Thulani Serero, Thobani Mncwango, Thamsanqa Gabuza
