Mamelodi Sundowns have avoided this season’s giant slayers Bidvest Wits in the semi-finals of the 2016 MTN8 Cup competition.
Instead, the Brazilians will face Chippa United in what is expected to be an exciting encounter in Port Elizabeth in the first semi-final. The return leg will be played in Tshwane.
The Brazilians booked their place in the last four following their 3-1 win over rivals SuperSport United in Tshwane on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Students, who stunned both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates with the same scoreline in less than a week, have been pitted against Cape Town City.
Gavin Hunt’s men will be at home in the first semi-final clash, before flying down to the Mother City for the second leg next month (September).
The PSL will advise on the dates and times of the four matches.
