The Borussia Dortmund star has been sounded out as a summer target to bolster United’s attacking options.

The Red Devils are keen to bring in a host of exciting talent when the transfer window opens to provide competition for Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial.

Reports emerged earlier this week that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward had identified Aubameyang as the club’s No.1 summer target.

The Mirror claimed United would be willing to offer £60million for his services that would see the 26-year-old pocket £200,000 a week.

And reports in France suggest United chiefs have already held talks over the Gabon international’s availability.

According to Le 10 Sport the Manchester outfit have held several meetings with Aubameyang’s entourage.

Aubameyang has been in sensational form for the German outfit this season with 20 goals in 20 league games to his name this term.

His impressive performances saw him crowned 2015 African Footballer of the Year.

Dortmund are reluctant to let their star man leave however, with his current contract running until 2020.

United also face competition from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer who are both said to be interested in his signature.
